Center for Auto Safety (CAS)

Provides information on auto defects, child safety seats, recalls and lemon laws.  Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with 55 cents postage with your request or complaint; include make, model and year.  CAS compiles complaints to press for recalls, regulation and class action suits;  maintains a referral service of California lawyers who take auto warranty and lemon law cases; publishes a guide to buying a new car (“The Car Book”), a guide to resolving new car complaints (“The Lemon Book”) and a guide to secret auto warranties (“Little Secrets”).
