Pennsylvania - Secretary of Banking Department

The State Departments of Banking regulate and supervise state-chartered banks. Many of them handle or refer problems and complaints about other types of financial institutions as well. Some also answer general questions about banking and consumer credit.
The Consumer Services staff at the Department of Banking answer complaints and inquiries daily through this website and more than 6,000 calls each year to the consumer hotline.  Their professionally trained staff is available Monday through Friday to provide accurate information and honest advice on a variety of consumer financial issues.  They also provide online updates about potential scams and enforcement actions taken by the Department, as well as informational materials for distribution and display.
